What we collect
Two forms on this site ask you for anything at all.
The enquiry form asks for your name, e-mail address and your message. We use them to answer the enquiry and for nothing else.
The newsletter form asks for a name and an e-mail address. Nothing is added to the list until you click the confirmation link we send you: if you never click it, the address is discarded and you hear from us once and never again.
The server also records the ordinary things a web server records — IP address, time and page requested — and the forms count recent submissions per address so they cannot be used to send bulk mail.
What we do not do
- We do not buy, rent, sell or share address lists.
- We do not add an address to the newsletter without a confirmed click.
- We do not send marketing to addresses that reached us through the enquiry form.
- We run no advertising trackers or third-party profiling on this site.
- We never ask for bank or card details by e-mail. A message that does is not from us.
The e-mail we send
An enquiry produces one acknowledgement to you and one notification to our desk. A newsletter sign-up produces one confirmation request; only after you confirm do you receive the newsletter, and every newsletter carries a one-click unsubscribe link that works immediately and without a reply from us.
Outgoing mail is handled by Amazon Simple Email Service, operated by Amazon Web Services, which processes it on our instruction and not for its own purposes.
Legal basis
Under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK, no. 6698) we rely on your explicit consent, given by ticking the box, and on the necessity of processing to take steps at your request before entering into a contract. For visitors in the European Union and the United Kingdom the same processing rests on Article 6(1)(a) and 6(1)(b) of the GDPR. Withdrawing consent does not make earlier processing unlawful.
How long we keep it
An enquiry that does not become an order is deleted within twelve months. An enquiry that becomes an order is kept for as long as Turkish accounting and seed-certification rules require. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe, and are removed immediately when you do. Anti-spam counters expire within the hour.
Who else sees it
Our own staff, our web host, and Amazon Web Services as the mail carrier. Public authorities where Turkish law obliges us. Nobody else. Because we are established in Turkey, data sent from the European Union is transferred outside the EEA; where that transfer needs a mechanism, it is your explicit consent together with the necessity of the transfer for the steps you asked us to take.
Your rights
You may ask what we hold, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to the processing, or ask for a copy in portable form. Write to info@aktohum.com with the address you used and roughly when. We answer within thirty days and there is no charge. If our answer does not satisfy you, you may complain to the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority, or to the supervisory authority where you live if that is in the EU or the UK.

This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. Anything your browser holds from this domain is technical and needed for a page to work.
